Linguistically valid movement behavior measured non-invasively

چکیده
We use optical flow to extract reliable kinematics from video for motions of the head, face, torso, and hands during speech and musical performance. Unlike dotand markerbased measures, these markerless measures are non-invasive and require no a priori specification of measurement locations. Reliability is compared with marker tracking data and the method’s utility is demonstrated for data from Plains Cree, English, and Shona.

Simulation study of Hemodynamic in Bifurcations for Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation using Electrical Analogy
Background and Objective: Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation (CAVM) hemodynamic is disease condition, results changes in the flow and pressure level in cerebral blood vessels. Measuring flow and pressure without catheter intervention along the vessel is big challenge due to vessel bifurcations/complex bifurcations in Arteriovenous Malformation patients. The vessel geometry in CAVM patients are...
متن کاملCorrigendum: Real-Time Control of a Neuroprosthetic Hand by Magnetoencephalographic Signals from Paralysed Patients
Neuroprosthetic arms might potentially restore motor functions for severely paralysed patients. Invasive measurements of cortical currents using electrocorticography have been widely used for neuroprosthetic control. Moreover, magnetoencephalography (MEG) exhibits characteristic brain signals similar to those of invasively measured signals. However, it remains unclear whether non-invasively mea...
متن کاملDecoding center-out hand velocity from MEG signals during visuomotor adaptation
During reaching or drawing, the primate cortex carries information about the current and upcoming position of the hand. Researchers have decoded hand position, velocity, and acceleration during center-out reaching or drawing tasks from neural recordings acquired invasively at the microscale and mesoscale levels. Here we report that we can continuously decode information about hand velocity at t...
متن کاملInvestigation of the effect of impeller rotation rate, powder flow rate, and cohesion on powder flow behavior in a continuous blender using PEPT
In this paper, we examine the movement of particles within a continuous powder mixer using PEPT (Positron Emission Particle Tracking). The benefit of the approach is that the particle movement along the vessel can be measured non-invasively. The effect of impeller rotation rate, powder flow rate, and powder cohesion on the particle trajectory, dispersive axial transport coefficient, and residen...
متن کاملReactivity of Dogs' Brain Oscillations to Visual Stimuli Measured with Non-Invasive Electroencephalography
Studying cognition of domestic dogs has gone through a renaissance within the last decades. However, although the behavioral studies of dogs are beginning to be common in the field of animal cognition, the neural events underlying cognition remain unknown. Here, we employed a non-invasive electroencephalography, with adhesive electrodes attached to the top of the skin, to measure brain activity...
